The Sleepover Friends

A couple of years ago, Lauryn asked me why I decided to name her Lauryn. I told her about my favorite book series when I was a kid; The Sleepover Friends. The main character in the book is named Lauren, and I always remember as a kid, wanting a daughter named Lauren.

Well, this past week, she asked about the book, so I began an ebay search and found the first book in the series; Patti's Luck.

We got the book in the mail yesterday, and I only have one thing to say:

"I FEEL OLD!!!"

The book is all torn up and the pages are yellowed. Ugh, seeing this book brought back so many memories, but it also reminded me that I am not getting any younger.

I think I may just have to steal this book away from Lauryn for some good reading :)

My First Mister

Lauryn is going into third grade this year, and for the first time, she has a male teacher (Mr. Magnuson). She is very nervous/excited about this fact, and keeps referring to him at "My First Mister". For example, tonight at her open house, she said:

"I have butterflies in my stomach, because I am nervous about meeting my first mister.". She met him, and he seems really nice :)

Jenna is going into Kindergarten, and she likes her new teacher too, Mrs. Nikodym. She said that her dress was pretty and when she had her picture taken with her, it felt soft. Jenna is so into dresses and pretty stuff..

I think they are going to have a GREAT year!!

Rainbow Soap

The best thing about being a mom, is that your kids teach you to enjoy the little things in life.

One of Jenna's favorite things to do is go through the automatic car wash. When I get the basic wash, she gets mad because we aren't going to have rainbow soap.

Rainbow soap is the pink, blue and yellow hot foaming wax that is applied to your car if you spend a few extra bucks for the deluxe wash.

Jenna pretends that the soap is cotton candy and pretends to eat it all before the "rain" comes and washes it all away.

Tonight when we went to the car wash, she ate every single bite!

Oh, to be a kid again! She makes me feel like one :)

Bootylicious? Really?

Any time you go to a county fair, you can expect to see some pretty interesting people, right?

Last week, my Mom and I took the girls and Jalee to the Bay County fair, and of course we saw a lot of people who have strange fashion sense.

Look at the photo below. Why is it that people feel the need to wear pants with words on their ass? Especially this word..... "Bootylicious". Really? Do you really think that you are bootylicious? For real? All I have to say is...wow...

Moms will relate to this...

The quickest way for a mother to get the attention of her children is to sit down and look comfortable.

My Cute Little Girly-Girls

I wanted to share this awesome picture of my little cuties. This was taken at the Spraypark at the Tridge in Midland. I think it really showcases the girls personalities. Jenna looks sweet and cuddly and Lauryn looks spunky and diva-ish (is that a word??).

I really have been feeling very lucky lately to have such awesome daughters. They make me feel like a really good Mom. They are always telling me how much they love me and giving me plenty of kisses and hugs.

Life is good!!!

my mood matches todays weather...rainy and gloomy..

usually i am not such a debbie downer, but am having a difficult week...
